Introducing Feasty

πŸ₯˜ At Feasty, we're building the category-defining platform for foodies. Exercise has Strava, Gaming has Twitch. Feasty aims to be that, for cooking.

πŸ“± Our formula is to create a best-in-class product and put it in the hands of the new generation of food content creators: video-first chefs, with millions of followers and heaps of personality.

πŸ“ˆ We’re ambitious. And, after getting off to a flying start with our MVP, we’re fortunate enough to have backers who share our ambition: JamJar, RLC and the founders of Monzo, Betfair and Treatwell.

βœ… On top of that, we’re a product with a purpose. We want to get more people in the kitchen, having fun while making healthier home-cooked meals.

🎒 It’s going to be quite the journey, and we’re after a CTO who has both the skills to build a category-defining product and the character to build a great team along the way.

Requirements

An excellent dev with leadership skills...

  • Full-stack knowledge. Comfortable leading across the full-stack: back-end to front-end and website to API to app.
  • With an eye for product. You're more than a techie. You're someone with product ideas, and a knack for creating things that 'just work'. You'll be working directly with the CEO (a self-taught dev who built the MVP) to bounce ideas around and create a product that users love.
  • And a track record of building great teams. Part of the fun is the opportunity to build a team in your image - rapidly hiring 3-5 devs that will form the core team for the initial build.

...and the start-up drive...
You love the idea of building something remarkable. Something to be proud of. Having the start-up drive doesn't mean burning the midnight oil every night. It means when you hit a roadblock, you figure out a way through it or round it, without piling up technical debt.

...with a passion for clean Rails code
Our webapp is built on Jumpstart, meaning you'll be starting with the best of Chris Oliver. And what's not to love about that.

Rails 6, Heroku and Digital Ocean is the starting point, but you'll be defining a more robust architecture that incorporates an iOS and Android app. React Native experience is a bonus.

Benefits

We'll make 2 offers - 1 with higher salary and one with higher equity. The total comp for the right candidate will be around Β£125k p.a.
  • Competitive salary: Β£80k - Β£100k, depending on experience and equity
  • Significant share options: This is the real prize. JamJar, RLC + an amazing group of angels have all put in their money because they think this could become massive. The right candidate will become the second largest shareholder in the company, after the founder.
  • Define what else you want. You'll be part of the core leadership team. You define the perks that you think will attract the best devs.

It's rare that a start-up gets funded with this level of backing (and security) without having a CTO. For the right person, this is a brilliant opportunity to build a category-defining product that people love; to work alongside the world's best investors and a technically-minded CEO; and to shape a team that means you love coming into work every day.

How to apply

Please email our CEO, michael@feastyrecipes.com, with some information about yourself and why you're interested. If it sounds like a good fit, we'll set up a Zoom call and send through a few technical questions (c.45 mins work). We will then aim to make a decision very quickly.
