FULL-STACK SOFTWARE DEVELOPER JOB DESCRIPTION 

Your Lighting Brand® is a full-service Creative Agency and Software Company that exclusively services the Lighting Community. Our software, The Lighting Exchange®, is a communications and project management platform that enables Lighting Sales Agents, Architects, Engineers, Lighting Designers and Manufacturers, to work together and create lighting fixture schedules for commercial and industrial construction projects. Our design team assists clients in the Lighting Community with a full range of marketing needs multi-design, strategy, execution, etc. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Full-Stack Software Developer to join our experienced software design team. You will report directly to the Product Owner and Lead Software Developer and assist with all functions of software coding and design. Your primary focus will be to understand, optimize, maintain and expand upon current and existing web applications. 

To ensure success as a Full-Stack Software Developer, you should have a good working knowledge of basic programming languages, the ability to learn new technology quickly, and the ability to work in a team environment. Ultimately, a top-class teammate that provides valuable support to the design & software team while continually improving their coding and design skills.

OUR TECH STACK: Ruby On Rails, PostgreSQL , React, Git, Stimulusjs, Python, Docker, Capistrano, Nginx, Passenger, Minitest, Selenium, Capybara 

PRIMARY DUTIES 
-Works to thoroughly understand the established code base 
-Works with the Product Owner to develop/enhance systemic solutions for new and existing features; collaborating on projects from conception to launch 
-Works to understand problems/bugs and develops simple, effective solutions to make an easy workflow for users 
-Extracts reports from database to determine system usage, provide subscribers with needed metrics or to assist data team 
-Manages time and requests effectively
-Ensures quality source control practices
-Provides regular and clear status updates to the Development team 

REQUIREMENTS 
-3 years experience in software development
-Experience developing MVC web applications
-Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies, such as Javascript, HTML, CSS 
-Good knowledge of relational databases, specifically experience with PostgreSQL 
-Understanding of Object Oriented programming concepts
-Experience writing automated tests
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Visually creative with good analytical and problem solving skills
-Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a creative and collaborative team environment 
-Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email and chat
-Ability to learn and adapt to changing software and platforms
-Ability to multitask and balance competing priorities to efficiently meet deadlines 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 
-Associates degree required (Bachelors preferred); major or significant coursework in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred 
-Experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails framework -Great understanding and appreciation for the Ruby language -Experience with React and/or StimulusJs
 -Experience with the Webpack build tool 
-Devops experience
 -Server administration experience in Unix*like environments
