Ruby on Rails Developer

Blueprint Learning
Full-time
Remote
Worldwide
TL:DR - We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer with a few years of proven experience to help us develop our e-learning platform! If you wish to learn more, please read on. You are also more than welcome to contact Sune Nilausen on sn@advokurser.dk.

Blueprint Learning is Denmark’s leading platform for on-demand education. Serving a host of different verticals, we provide thousands of people with high quality educational content, producing over 600 hours of unique content every year. Since our inception 7 years ago, our mission has been to deliver market leading education to all industries in which further education is mandatory. And while that journey has been fun, the real excitement is what lies ahead!

We are currently scaling internationally as well as to new verticals within our current markets, with a clear ambition of becoming the premiere hub for knowledge and education in Europe. To achieve that, we are looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer to accelerate our efforts.

While you need to have a solid grasp of Ruby on Rails, and preferably other tools in our stack, we believe that attitude and willingness to learn and grow goes a long way. Our stack is composed of rubocop + Code Climate, CI/CD, code reviews on GitHub, host on Heroku and we care about code quality as much as we care about architecture. We use Linear to track our efforts and Figma for design! You can expect a fast-paced environment, where you get to work in a very broad spectrum of projects and assignments.

In sum, we are looking for a person who can help with:
  • Collaboratively define and prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Developing features for the application.
  • Dev-ops related tasks, monitoring, etc. We host on Heroku to spend as little time as possible on dev-ops but there will be tasks here and there.
  • Participating in code reviews and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback for your team.
  • Triaging, reproduce and debug technical support requests / bugs.

We expect that you have:
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Familiarity with Git, Github and agile processes.
  • Experience with APIs and integration of 3rd party services.
  • RSpec or similar test framework experience.
  • Professional level English.
  • Live Copenhagen Capital Region or in the GMT+0 or GMT+1 timezone and have experience working remotely.

Why us?
Well, if you ask us, the reasons are plenty. You get to be part of an established company, but still get to experience a very ambitious expansion strategy. Operating out of our offices at the heart of Copenhagen, you join a company, where you, at all levels of the organization, are offered a large level of autonomy, room to grow and ample opportunity to do meaningful work. The company culture is notoriously laid back and offers you the flexibility you need in your life to be the best version of yourself; that way, we believe you can also be the best professional when you work. We are a social bunch, with weekly Friday bars, breakfast, company events and all the other exciting things you would expect from a modern company.

We offer:
  • The opportunity to join a company with steady annual growth, who stands at the precipice of rapid, international expansion.
  • Competitive salary
  • Central office in the heart of Copenhagen
  • Flexible hours and work-from-home; we value work life balance!
