Headlight Solutions is a small software company focused on optimizing inefficiencies in the shipping industry. We integrate and partner with numerous companies to gather order information which we then use to build shipping routes, reduce shipping costs, and provide more insight into shipping operations. We’re looking for a web developer to join our team to further expand our software and help us meet the demand of our rapidly increasing customer base.

Because of our small size, we have many of the benefits of a startup but we have solid long term backing, long term customers, and a product road map that is proving successful. To see if your skills align with our stack and tools, here is what we use:

Ruby on Rails (Primary backend / some of the frontend)
Sinatra (For smaller backend services)
React (Frontend for the advanced parts of our UI)
Jquery (for Rails frontend)
Postgres + Redis
Rust (Our secret sauce algorithm requires a compiled language for improved computational performance)
AWS - Opsworks/Chef + Cloudwatch, RDS, Route53, EC2, etc
Github

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

2+ years experience with any combination of our stack listed above. Rails or React experience is a must have.
Experience with relational databases
2+ years experience of TDD with unit and behavior tests
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Dev ops experience (bonus)
