About this role:

We're looking for a Tech Lead to work with and guide the team in building a bus industry-tailored dynamic pricing engine. Pricing is static across the bus industry - we believe this makes little sense. We also believe a dynamic pricing engine will become an essential tool to run a modern bus company. Our goal is to help bus companies via a scalable tech platform to have the best machine learning powered pricing engine in the market!

We already have a working solution for some of the most important bus companies in México but we need your help to take it to the next level.

In a quick summary, you are in charge of the product development of our dynamic pricing technology. Ready for the challenge?


What will you do?

  • Hire, manage and develop a team of fullstack developers(Ruby on Rails) and data science team.
  • Lead data mining and collection procedures
  • Build analytic systems and predictive models
  • Test performance of data-driven products
  • Visualize data and create reports
  • Experiment with new models and techniques
  • Align data projects with organizational goals


Our working methods:

  • You get involved in what functionalities are going to be made and we make sure that we cover all the details.
  • You do not implement the design (The designer makes the own implementation of it).
  • In implementing the functionality, we don't leave you alone. We work with Code Reviews.

Minimun qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with Ruby.
  • 2 years of experience with MVC framework (Ruby on Rails)
  • Solid understanding of machine learning
  • Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques
  • A knack for statistical analysis and predictive modeling
  • A business mindset
  • Experience in PostgreSQL or some relational database.
  • Knowledge of GIT.
  • Spanish and English proficiency (spoken, written, and read)
  • Constant encouragement to learn and develop new skills together with the rest of the team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Ruby. You know how to manipulate arrays without the use of a framework like Ruby on Rails.
  • Knowledge of Heroku. You know the difference between a web worker and a background worker.
  • Knowledge of Testing. You have an opinion about what to test and what not to do.
  • Knowledge in Logentries, Mixpanel, Segment IO.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Heroku or Google App Engine.
  • Knowledge in Forecasting
