About Jaamo

Jaamo is an ERP platform for childcare organizations in the Netherlands. We support our customers with planning, communication, and administration — from long-term child planning and staff scheduling to parent apps and financial integrations.

We're a team of 19 with short lines of communication, where everyone is involved in developing our product. Support, consultants, and developers work together to ensure Jaamo continually improves. Within Jaamo, you'll be part of a product team of 8 developers, 1 UX designer, and 1 Product Owner who work closely together to continuously improve the platform. A Day in the Life

Working remotely, you'll start your day with coffee or tea and join the development team. We work in a Kanban flow with clear priorities and daily async standups.

You will:

• Implement new features and tackle bugs in our Rails monolith
• Discuss solutions and architecture options with your teammates
• Use AI coding agents in your IDE to speed up routine work, explore solutions, and improve code quality
• Collaborate closely with support and consultants when issues are complex or domain-specific

Collaboration is key — you'll connect with fellow developers for support or pair-programming whenever needed. There's also room for fun, so expect laughter and team spirit throughout the day. By the end of each day, your efforts will have made Jaamo better, safer, and faster for our users.

Who We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• 3–5 years of professional Ruby on Rails experience
• Based in Europe
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Kanban, Scrum, or similar agile environments
• Self-starter who takes ownership and works independently in a remote setting
• Experience with RSpec, JavaScript (modern JS in Rails context), PostgreSQL, Git
• Good written and verbal English

AI Skills (required):

• Proficient in using AI coding agents in your IDE (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codeium, or similar) as part of your daily workflow
• You understand when AI speeds you up and when you need to slow down, think, or refactor yourself
• Open to sharing prompts, patterns, and best practices with the team so we all improve together

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Stimulus/Hotwire
• Experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3)
• Experience with Android and/or iOS development
• Experience with performance optimization and security in a SaaS context

What we offer

• Salary range: €40,000 – €60,000 annually, depending on experience
• Fully remote work within Europe, with occasional team meetups in the Netherlands
• Minimum 32 hours/week
