About Swoop

Swoop is a healthcare AI company reimagining how life sciences and pharmaceutical brands identify and engage patients and healthcare providers, with a particular focus on the rare disease space, where timely and accurate diagnosis can dramatically impact outcomes.

Their platform combines real-world health data, machine learning, and privacy-safe audience modeling to help healthcare organizations connect with the right people across digital, TV, and conversational channels while maintaining full HIPAA compliance.

Unlike traditional adtech optimization platforms, Swoop’s models are designed to surface overlooked patient populations, shorten diagnostic journeys, and make healthcare marketing more ethical and effective.

The company recently acquired MyHealthTeam, a network of 60+ opt-in patient communities, giving Swoop deeper insight into real patient experiences and enabling more meaningful healthcare engagement.

Swoop is building a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and healthcare specialists to develop the next generation of privacy-safe, AI-powered engagement tools for healthcare.

Founders, Team, and Traction

  • Ron Elwell (Co-Founder & CEO): repeat founder, previously built companies including IPM.ai and Real Chemistry
  • Simeon Simeonov (Co-Founder & CTO): experienced technologist, investor, and advisor
  • ~9 person team today, scaling to ~15 by the end of 2026
  • 35–40% year-over-year growth for the past decade
  • Highly profitable with ~40% profit margins

This is a stable, profitable company solving meaningful problems in healthcare with a small, senior team.

The Role

Swoop is hiring two Senior Fullstack Engineers:

  • One backend-leaning
  • One frontend-leaning

Both roles will work across the stack but will bring deeper ownership in their area of strength.

You will help build the core platform powering patient discovery, healthcare audience modeling, and AI-driven engagement tools used by leading life sciences organizations.

This is a true senior IC role with meaningful ownership and autonomy on a small engineering team.

Tech Stack

  • Ruby on Rails (Stimulus / Turbo)
  • Python services for LLM and ML workflows
  • Modern fullstack architecture with AI-powered downstream services

What You’ll Work On

  • Building and scaling the core healthcare intelligence platform
  • Designing systems that integrate healthcare data with ML-driven insights
  • Developing privacy-safe engagement tooling used by healthcare companies
  • Shipping product features across the stack in a small, high-ownership environment
  • Collaborating closely with product, data science, and healthcare specialists

Backend-leaning engineers will focus more on platform architecture, data systems, and Python services.

Frontend-leaning engineers will focus more on product interfaces, UX architecture, and Rails frontend frameworks.

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building production software across the stack
  • Comfort working in Rails-based architectures
  • Ability to work in a small, high-ownership engineering environment
  • Product-minded engineers who enjoy shipping real features
  • Experience integrating APIs, data pipelines, or ML-driven systems is a plus
  • Interest in healthcare or mission-driven work

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working on small teams where they can own meaningful pieces of a product end-to-end.

Compensation & Setup

  • Salary: $200k – $230k
  • Fully remote (US)

True 40-hour work week (9–5 culture)
