Maindeck provides a comprehensive digital platform that simplifies and enhances the management of technical projects in the maritime sector. Our software is designed to streamline the planning and execution of complex ship repair and maintenance projects. We serve a primarily ship owners, helping them to manage projects for over 500 vessels efficiently.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for candidates with a strong track record of putting Rails to work and bringing products to life. You should be experienced in the framework, in Ruby, and with the staples of full-stack web development: HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
We're not big on credentials, so a Computer Science degree or graduating from a prestigious university is not something we spend much time looking at. We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here.
While you'll report to a team lead, Maindeck is a company where “Managers of One” thrive. As a Manager of One, you are self-driven and complete tasks without a lot of handholding or supervision. To give you a clear idea of what the job could entail, here are real examples of some of the work we’ve done the last few weeks:
- Implementing customer-managed tagging systems across projects.
- Adding cloning features for projects to replicate data including quotations and supplies.
- Enhancing filter and search functionalities in our Inspection mobile app.
- Optimizing SQL queries and database indexes for better performance of certain complex pages.
- Redesigning the "Updates" page for more intuitive progress tracking.
- Introducing a new timeline view for projects and improving PDF export functions.
