Job Details:
· This is an Entry to Mid-Level Level Position
· This is a Full-Time Position
As a developer at STS you will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining our current in-house technology and tools. We are a small team, so you'll get to do a bit of everything: Working in HTML/CSS and Javascript for front-end web interfaces, as well as adding new features to our backend systems.
Our stack includes: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, MariaDB/MySQL, Redis and Git. You will need to either demonstrate experience working with Ruby or have proficiency in another language such as PHP/Perl/Python, and the ability to learn very quickly.
Requirements:
· Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
· Experience with MySQL or similar relational database.
· Thorough understanding of Linux, networking and HTTP fundamentals.
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· Understanding of REST principles and experience with backend APIs
Nice to have:
· Linux and windows system administration experience
· Javascript
· HTML/CSS (ability to implement markup, not a web designer)
· Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
· Experience with NoSQL databases
